Walk and Wag – A Get Pinked! And More Cancer Initiative

Development Council is hosting the third annual one-mile cancer awareness walk on Saturday, October 22 from 9:30am-Noon at Dowdy Park. Registration starts at 9:30am and the walk with all participants and dogs will start at 10:30am. In addition to the walk, there will be family focused and dog-focused activities as well as free flu vaccines for 18+ participants. Proceeds from Cancer Walk and Wag remain on the Outer Banks to benefit free programs and services provided for local cancer patients, including: cancer screenings, support groups, and the hospital’s wig program. WAYS TO PARTICIPATE
Limited TEAM SPONSORSHIP opportunities are available for $500. To register a team, call 252-449-5933.

• Team of 15 walkers (with or without dogs) with access to all event activities

• Opportunity for dog(s) to participate in the one-mile walk
• Access to dog activities: Obstacle Course, Pet/Owner Pictures, Photo Contest, Paw Print Painting, and more
• Commemorative Cancer Walk and Wag collapsible dog bowl

• Limit 2 dogs per walker. Dogs must be leashed at all times.
PROCEEDS
One hundred percent of the proceeds from the Cancer Walk and Wag remain on the Outer Banks to benefit free programs and services that are provided for local cancer patients, including: cancer screenings, support groups, wig program, and Look Good, Feel Better. We all know someone who has faced the devastating effects of cancer, and the community’s support of this fundraising effort will make a difference for our patients. Our community’s generosity is critical to our mission of treating and healing those affected by this horrible disease.
