Navigating cancer care can be complex and overwhelming. At Outer Banks Health, we provide a dedicated team to support you through every step of your journey. Our team includes a cancer nurse navigator, social worker, lay navigator, and financial navigator, all working together to coordinate timely appointments for diagnostic tests, treatments, and supportive care.
Our social worker and financial navigator collaborate closely to address any financial concerns you may have. The lay navigator offers additional support, including assistance with prosthetics and wig fittings, and connects you to our Look Good Feel Better and Cancer Transitions programs.
Patients in our care always have the choice of where to go for specialized services that are not provided locally. Cancer patients sometimes need to receive part of their treatment elsewhere. If this happens, our team helps with the transition of care and ongoing treatment.
