Radiation Therapy is administered as a treatment for cancer in the Radiation Therapy suite of the Cowell Cancer Center in Nags Head.
Radiation Oncologist, Dr. Charles Shelton and the radiation therapy team provide customized radiation using the newest technologies. Dr. Shelton coordinates treatment with Outer Banks Health’s Cancer Care Team and oncologists from all over the region, including eastern North Carolina and Virginia. Treatment includes 3-D Conformal Radiation, Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy, Image Guided Radiation Therapy, Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) and others pertaining to radiotherapy.
Our progressive treatment options are accompanied by rigorous clinical and safety practices. We meet or exceed standards established by the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) and the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM).
