Home Sleep Study is available through Outer Banks Health using the Apnea Risk Evaluation System (ARES).
The ARES Home Sleep Study is a non-invasive device that allows you to be evaluated for Obstructive Sleep Apnea in the comfort of your own home. The device is worn like a baseball cap and comfortably measures sleep/wake behaviors, oxygen saturation, airflow, pulse rate, snoring, head position, head movement, rapid eye movement, respiratory disturbance and apnea while you sleep. Patients meet with a respiratory therapist to learn how to use the device, take it home and wear it overnight while they sleep, then return it the next day for evaluation of the test results.
